Kathy M. Way

RN, BSN, Director of Family Services, COO

Kathy Way has been with The Haven Network for 4 years in the role of Director of Family Services.  She has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University and has Perinatal Bereavement training through RTS Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation Inc.,  in LaCrosse, WI.  Kathy has an extensive background in Neonatal nursing having worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit from 1986 through 2005.  Outside of work, she spends time with her husband Shawn and their six children, and is actively involved in volunteering in their schools and her church community Holy Family.

Kathy A. Pittman

Director of Photography

Kathy Pittman has been with The Haven Network since 2007.  She started as a volunteer and later developed the photography program.  She has an AAS in Marketing and Business Management.   In addition to her role at The Haven Network, Kathy also owns her own photography business, Katherine Pittman Photography.  She actively volunteers her time and talents with Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center, Portraits of Love, her children’s school and her church, First Evangelical Free.  Kathy and her husband Tim have two children.

Cheri Grennan-Smith, Rockford Christian Schools

Cheri served as The Haven Network’s Executive Director for 3 years and is now Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement at Rockford Christian Schools.  Prior to serving in her role as Executive Director she managed the Women’s Center at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center for 11 years and was employed by OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center for 23 years.  She currently serves on the Ethics Committee and is vice-president of the OSF Foundation Board.  Previously Cheri served as vice president of the OSF Auxiliary, the OSF Women’s Health Advisory Board, St. James Parish Council and St. James Home & School Board.  She resides in Rockford, IL with her husband Jim and 4 children.  She and her family belong to St. James Church in Rockford.

H. Kent Heise

Over three and one-half decades, Kent Heise has developed extensive experience assisting individuals, families, owners of closely held businesses, and charitable entities, enhance and plan their financial future.  He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations awarded by the American College in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania.  He also earned the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. In a partnering relationship with Regal Financial Group, Kent is committed to providing you with financial tools, products, and advisory services to address your financial goals and dreams.   Regal Financial Group and American Portfolios Financial Services Inc., provide local, regional, and national resources to enhance the services and support available to you.

Kent is an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church , a current and founding board member of The Haven Network, and an active volunteer with Inspire the Children.  He and his wife Jean, have two adult children and four grandchildren.

Rev. Eric Keller
, Pastor at Bethany Presbyterian Church

Rev. Eric Keller earned his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena , CA , and began his first call at a small church in Des Moines , IA for three and a half years as the solo pastor. He and his wife Jennifer now live in Loves Park , IL where he has been the pastor at Bethany Presbyterian Church since February 2008.

Eric got involved with The Haven after attending a luncheon about the ministry hosted by Jean Heise. He was so impressed by the ministry and its core values that he wanted to get more involved. "I believe God wants me to be a presence for him in the community and when I saw what The Haven was doing, I knew where that would be."

Jon Krause
, Chairman, Gambino Realtors

Jon Krause is president of Gambino Realtors and president-elect of the Rockford Area Association of Realtors. A Rockford resident since 1985, he remains very active in our community, serving as vice president of finance for the Blackhawk Area Council of Boy Scouts and president of his congregation, St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. Jon has been a board member of The Haven since 2006 and currently serves as board chairman. He and his wife, Judy, have two children.

Ralph Kreissler
, Vice Chair of Midway Village Museum

After his service as a pilot in the USAF, Ralph Kreissler spent eight years with Sundstrand Aviation as a Project Engineer on 707, 727, 737, 747, SST, L1011, and Space Shuttle.  He then formed Forest City Machine, D & R AutoChuck and Kreissler Leasing, and following that purchased HMC Products, Greenlee Automatics, and Ekstrom Carlson Machine until his semi-retirement in 1996.

Ralph currently serves as Vice Chair of Midway Village Museum Board and as a member of The Haven Network Board.  He is a past board member of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. He was married  for 44 years to Dorothy Elizabeth Eidsvold (deceased).  Together they raised four children and ten grandchildren.

W. Perry Randall, MBA, CFP, AIF, is founder of Randall Wealth Management, LLC, where he helps clients pursue their financial goals. He has held many leadership roles within our community including service on the boards of directors of Rockford Area Pregnancy Care Center, BGC Cornerstone Fund, Northwestern University Alumni Club of Rockford, and The Haven. Perry and his wife have seven children.

Jean M. Heise, President Emeritus

Jean M. Heise founded The Haven Network in 2004 with Byron C. Calhoun, MD, a pioneer in the perinatal hospice movement, and served as The Haven's president for six years. Jean served on the board of National Lutherans for Life and for many years as Education Director of Lutherans for Life of Illinois.

Prior to her work at The Haven Network, she was on staff at the Howard Center for Family, Religion and Society, an internationally known think tank that studies family and cultural issues.  Her role at The Howard Center involved special research projects and assistance with the World Congress of Families, the largest international pro-family conferences, in Prague of the Czech Republic , Geneva , Switzerland, Mexico City and Warsaw, Poland. In June 2000, Jean lobbied on behalf of pro-family and pro-life causes at the Women's Conference, Beijing + 5, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City . In May 2004, she traveled to Australia , representing The Howard Center, speaking on family and life issues in Perth and Melbourne. Jean and her husband live in Rockford , Illinois.  The Heises have two married children and four grandchildren.

Dr. Byron C. Calhoun, MD, FACOG, FACS, MBA

Dr Byron C. Calhoun, MD, FACOG, FACS, MBA is a 1979 Distinguished Graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and graduated from the University of Iowa Medical School with an MD in 1983. Dr Calhoun completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987 and finished a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University in 1989.  Dr Calhoun is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is board certified in general Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the sub-specialty of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr Calhoun serves as Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the West Virginia University-Charleston and is involved in resident and medical student education.  He licensed in several states and continues to actively practice maternal-fetal medicine, perform diagnostic obstetrical ultrasound, and participate in prenatal diagnosis counseling.

Dr. Calhoun’s contributions to the obstetrical literature include: the The Perinatal Hospice, which attempts to provide a cogent pro-life hospice alternative to partial-birth abortion for fatal fetal anomalies, and, publication of the cost consequences of abortion and its relationship to pre-term birth.  Dr Calhoun and his wife, Kathryn, have 5 children.
